Project Summary |
In order to be both a good reader and a good writer, it is important to have a rich vocabulary. In addition, being able to recognize and use a variety of words will help you on important standardized tests such as the SAT. One of the easiest and most efficient ways to learn vocabulary is with vocabulary cards.
This assignment requires that you create your own set of vocabulary cards. In fact, just creating the cards will help you to begin to own some new words. We will be repeating this assignment frequently throughout the year so that you will end up with an impressive collection of vocabulary cards, and Ð an impressive vocabulary you can deploy to dazzle your friends, teachers and other people who should know how brilliant you are J |

You will create clear information, including the following: On the front: á Correctly-spelled word á Part of speech (noun, adjective, adverb, verb) á Graphic illustration
á Accurate definition in your own words á Original sentence using each vocabulary word that will help you remember the word and its meaning. á 2 -3 synonyms

Use 3Ó x 5Ó index cards. Print the word and part of speech on one side and include an illustration that helps you remember the word; all other information goes on side two.
